Abstract

This report presents a record of the SGSAH/AHRC-funded internship undertaken by Charley Matthews from the University of Edinburgh in autumn 2023. The internship lasted three months, from mid-September to mid-December, and was based in the Archives and Manuscripts department under the direction of Chris Cassells, head of department.

This reports has three main aims:

To present and reflect on some key findings from the internship around use of the Chew Glossary.

To record work done to rehouse the glossary and develop the contents of the LGBTQIA+ section, and reflect on the outcomes of this work.

To recommend some future developments and key next steps.
